September 25, 2021 - Utah Flight
Transit Home from Triple Tree

Sunday morning was just dismal.  The weather was overcasty.  People were tearing down their campsite and loading up their planes.  Everyone was bugging out.  Even the Triple Tree Aerodrome personnel were picking up the cone markers on the taxiways.  The tower was silent.  It's always a little depressing when a fly-in ends and today was no exception.

I taxiied to the end of the south runway only to find people were taking off in the opposite direction.  So I had to taxi to the north end of the field.

Last time I was here, I left Saturday afternoon, and everyone was doing a low pass after takeoff.  But this morning everyone was just leaving.  There was no one left to admire a low pass.

Heading northeast at 5,500 feet.  What's the word for it?   Boring!

At least I had a nice little tailwind.  Anytime I can break 200 mph on groundspeed I'm happy.

On base for runway 31 at Shiloh Airport (KSIF) at Reidsville, North Carolina.

I stopped here for fuel.  The avgas price here was the lowest I would pay for the entire Utah trip.

In the FBO office was an interesting picture of Chuck Yaeger flying a P-51 Mustang.

Pretty much nothing but trees in North Carolina and Virginia.

A massive distribution center building going up in the middle of nowhere.

And then I was home.  What a trip!  And what a plane!  Ran like a swiss watch; never missed a beat.
